PART III
-------------
Black screen pops up. AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" is faintly heard in the background.
Static fills the screen. Only a single voice is heard.
Voice: "Soon there will be no reason to question your own fate. Because all the answers you've been looking for will smack you right in the face. For years. For months. For weeks now you have all wondered what is the state of the XWF. What is going to happen next? Where can we all go from here? We’ll tell you. Soon. Things will be our way.... and we like it like that."
Static.
Quick clips are shown of Rage powerbombing Shotgun into the steel steps at King of Xtreme, powerbombing Chris Falkenyork into a casket at Obscured and fighting a hellacious battle with Mark Adkins. Rage is seen posing with the title belt, getting fitted for suits and speaking in front of A-list celebrities.
Voice: "I'm serious when I say this isn't just a change. This isn't just something brand new. This is something that effects you all. One way or another. You will all be effected. In the end you will have no other choice but to succumb to greatness. To accept your very fate and realize that this was always in the cards. This was always the plan. From the very beginning. You just didn't know it. You do now. And soon you will start to understand. Until then.."
Mark Adkins is seen standing in front of the apostles as he preaches to the masses. He is shown delivering the end of 5 on Rage inside the grave at Dead End. Adkins is shown celebrating with the crowd at recent episode of Showdown, his loyal apostles swarming around him.
Voice: "You can run. But you can't hide. You can not avoid the inevitable. The day is upon us when we embark on a new journey. The XWF's landscape will be marred for eternity. No one can escape. The truth is. Nobody will be the same. After a harsh new reality comes upon your precious Xtreme Wrestling Federation. Then all of you will marvel at the fact that you could not prevent what is going to happen. What is about to happen. Isn't preventable. I'm sorry."
A collage of clips featuring Original is seen. He is shown pinning Carlos Shotgun as well as holding a magazine touting his highlight reel segment which garnered the highest ratings ever. Original is seen becoming the first and only triple crown champion. Original is shown in London, England taking off a leather mask marking his official return to the XWF.
Voice: "Women and children. You should cower behind your men. You should hide your faces. You shouldn't show yourselves. Much like I have chosen to wait to show you my identity. But only for a different reason. You see you should be scared. Terrified beyond belief. Myself on the otherhand. I am in control. I control everything you see around you."
Iron Bong is shown flying through the Seattle sky with random clips featuring Shotgun winning the world title from Adkins and brawling inside of the cell with Rage. Shotgun is shown smoking on top of the grave with Adkins and Rage buried under him.
The clip goes on to show all four men brawling at the last Showdown as they head into Jaded. Lars is seen screaming in anger as security takes to take control of the situation.
Static.
We got back to ringside with Chico and Manic.
-------------
World Heavyweight Champion "The Modern Day Monster" Rage & "The Elite Savior" Carlos Shotgun vs The Original & "The Xtreme Icon" Mark Adkins - If Shotgun, Original, or Adkins get the pin, they receive a World Championship match at Xtreme Battle Zone. If Rage gets the pin, he chooses his opponent for Xtreme Battle Zone.
Chico: "To say these men have a lot of history is an understatement."
Manic: "Are you kidding Chico? These are four former heavyweight champions. Four members of the hall of fame. This is the dream team of the wrestling world. This is as good as it gets!"
Chico: "And the stakes couldn’t be higher. If Rage wins he gets to choose his opponent for Xtreme Battle Zone for the XWF heavyweight championship. If anyone else gets the pin they will be named the number one contender."
Manic: "This is for all the gold. I love it Chico."
Worley: "The following contest is a tag team match. If the champion scores the pin he will get to choose his opponent at Xtreme Battle Zone. If anyone else does they will be named the number 1 contender for the XWF heavyweight championship!"
“Public Enemy #1” by Megadeth plays and the apostles come to their feet as Mark Adkins walks proudly walks out to a huge ovation. Adkins walks down the ramp and gets into the ring before playing the fans to a huge ovation.
Worley: "Introducing first, from Chicago, Illinois, The Messiah of Xtreme… Mark Adkins!"
Chico: "The always popular Mark Adkins, The Messiah of Xtreme."
Manic: "Adkins looks in great shape Chico."
"Headlong Flight" by Rush begins to play as The Original makes his way out.
Worley: "And his partner hailing from Winnipeg, Canada…. The Original!"
Chico: "The always outspoken Original."
Manic: "One of, if not the oldest members of the whole roster. This man has done it all."
Original slides into the ring and looks at Adkins. The fans boo him loudly as he shrugs and continues to pose for the crowd.
“Do the Evolution” by Pearl Jam begins to play and out walks Carlos Shotgun with a smile on his face. He looks at the fans and takes a small bow before walking down the ramp. He slides into the ring and poses to a huge ovation.
Worley: And their opponents, from San Juan, Puerto Rico, The Elite Savior… Carlos Shotgun!
Crowd: “Iron Bong! Iron Bong!”
Shotgun confidently stands in the middle of the ring.
Chico: The former XWF heavyweight champion and a legend in his own right.
“Only” by Nine Inch Nals begins to play as Rage makes his way out with the XWF heavyweight championship draped across his shoulder.
Worley: "And his partner, the current reigning and defending XWF Heavyweight Champion…. Rage!"
Pyro goes off as Rage raises the championship up high before putting it back on his shoulder and confidently tapping it. He walks into the ring and looks across at Shotgun but ignores him and continues to pose with the belt.
Chico: "This man has been dubbed many names. He has been called a demon. He has been called a modern monster. He has been dubbed an elite killer. Personally, I think the name that fits him best is XWF heavyweight champion."
Manic: "No doubt about it. This man is a beast!"
All men settle in and the crowd is buzzing. The referee gets everyone into their positions and signals for the bell to ring as the match officially begins.
*ding* *ding* *ding*
Rage and Adkins start it off in center ring. Rage seems to be willing to push forward but Adkins shakes his head and points at Shotgun. Rage looks at Shotgun annoyed as a loud Iron Bong chant starts up. Rage reluctantly tags in Shotgun as a “Let’s go Adkins/Iron Bong” chant starts dueling.
Shotgun and Adkins circle each other before locking up. Adkins pushes Shotgun into the ground and the apostles roar as a huge “Let’s go Adkins” chants starts up. Original is seen on the apron shrugging as both men lock up in the center ring. They test their strength and this time it’s Shotgun who sends Adkins down into the mat to an explosion of “Iron Bong” chants. The playful smile in Adkins face is lost as he looks up at Shotgun and picks himself up.
Chico: "These two really love hurting each other, don’t they?"
Manic: "Adkins’ face indicates that the fun and games are over though."
Shotgun gets in a fighting stance but Adkins just charges through with a right hand. Shotgun is somewhat caught off guard as Adkins follows up with lefts and rights pushing him against the ropes. Adkins whips Shotgun and runs the opposite direction. Both men leap up in the air and hit simultaneous crossbodies causing them to collide in center ring. Both men are reeling and holding their sides in pain.
Chico: "They were thinking the exact same thing!"
Manic: "That move is uncommon for both men and yet they both bust it out for one reason and one reason only, they knew the other wouldn’t expect it."
Adkins gets some distance and so does Shotgun. Both of them get up and look at each other when Rage reaches out and blind tags Shotgun. Original does the same and immediately gets in the ring. Shotgun and Adkins are visibly upset but go along and exit.
Rage puts up his fist with a smile on his face while Original simply gets a head of steam and runs right into the monster with a big elbow. Rage is rocked back but her fires back with a huge fist to the gut and Original is heard screaming. Rage grabs Original by the shoulder and proceeds to headbutt him once, twice, three times before dropping him to the ground. The referee gets on his face but he calmly pushes him aside and picks him up by the hair. Rage whips Original into Shotgun’s corner and Shotgun puts up his boot which causes Original to hit it face first. Shotgun immediately pretends nothing happened and the referee gets right on his face.
Chico: "That was a cheap shot right there."
Manic: "It’s a tag team Chico. Deal with it."
Chico: "Shotgun is a former tag team champion. He started his career as a tag team wrestler. You would think he’s more comfortable in this environment than Rage."
Rage walks over to Original and stands on his back letting all of his weight crush Original. Original screams in pain as Rage casually walks over and taunts the fans. Shotgun tags him hard on the shoulder and jumps in the ring. Rage is visibly angry while Shotgun just rolls his eyes and picks up Original. He drops him down with an atomic drop and runs the ropes before hitting Original with a shoulder tackle. Original is in trouble as Shotgun picks him by the hair up again and hooks him for a T-Bone suplex. Original lands near Adkins and Adkins immediately gets the quick tag.
Before Shotgun can react Adkins climbs the third rope and hits Shotgun with a missile dropkick. The fans pop as Adkins puts Shotgun’s throat against the bottom rope and runs the ropes before hitting simultaneous knees to the back. Shotgun screams out in pain and holds his back breathing heavily. Adkins immediately follows up with a textbook surfboard pulling Shotgun up from the mat into the submission maneuver.
Chico: "Watch it! Watch it! Shotgun just came back from a very serious back injury! This could be it!"
Manic: "Adkins knew Shotgun’s can’t possibly be completely healed from the beating he took from Rage. This is why he’s the best."
The referee gets in Shotgun’s face who refuses to give up but his face is filled with pain. Adkins is heard laughing as he pulls back and screams for Shotgun to quit. Rage charges in the ring and kicks Adkins breaking the hold.
Manic: "Rage just might have stolen a win right there Chico. If Adkins had made Shotgun tap out he would be the new number 1 contender. It seems Rage has other plans."
Adkins tells the referee to do his fucking job as he wraps his arm around Shotgun’s chin and applies a lock. Shotgun is still reeling from the earlier submission move as he drops to his knees. Adkins locks it in tights but Shotgun immediately starts hitting Adkins with elbows to the mid-section. Adkins loses his grip and Shotgun immediately hooks Adkins and drops him with a beautiful belly to back suplex. Shotgun drops to one knee and watches as Adkins gets up again perhaps from sheer adrenaline. Shotgun charges at him and hooks him again into another belly to back. Adkins gets up a third time and Shotgun drops him a third time with a belly to back as the arena explodes with more dueling chants.
Shotgun rolls to his side and crawls to Adkins where he hooks the leg for the one….Two….. Adkins gets his arm up and flips of the referee. Shotgun can be seen growing annoyed as he picks Adkins up by the hair. Adkins immediately pushes him right into Original’s turnbuckle. Original tags himself in as Adkins holds Shotgun in the corner. Adkins delivers stiff lefts and rights which land right on the money. Adkins rolls out of the way and Original takes over by hooking Shotgun’s head and dropping him down with a bulldog. Original immediately runs the ropes and hits the lion sault as the fans come alive. Original poses for a second before hooking the leg for the one…..Two…… kickout before the three!
Chico: "He wasted some time there. He might have gotten him had he been quicker."
Rage looks on as Original taunts him and grabs Shotgun by the hair. Original puts Shotgun in an abdominal stretch and pulls back. Shotgun is seen in clear pain. Original extends his hand back and Adkins actually reaches in and gives him more leverage. Shotgun screams and the referee quickly asks him if he wants to give up.
Shotgun: "No!"
The ref checks on Original who lets go before he can get caught.
The ref goes back to checking on Shotgun when Original once again gets some leverage from Adkins. Shotgun screams again but this time the ref sees Original. He immediately orders for the hold to be broken one….Two…..Three……Four…… Original lets go. Shotgun drops to the canvas in clear agony as Original is clearly growing more confident.
Chico: "Early on it looked like Rage and Shotgun were doing well as a team but Original and Adkins just worked great as a unit right there."
Manic: "Shotgun better get some help soon because he looks to be in a bad spot."
Original taunts Shotgun before bringing him up. He whips Shotgun into his corner and follows up with a knee right to the mid-section. He tags in Adkins and holds Shotgun as Adkins gets a full head of steam and delivers a beautiful splash on the corner. Shotgun is out of it as Adkins hits Shotgun with a snap suplex and pins for the one….two….. kickout before the three!
Adkins immediately picks Shotgun up and whips him into his corner. He mimics Original as he drives his knee deep into Shotgun’s midsection and holds him there as Original tags himself in. Original gets some distance before charging at Shotgun and mimicking Adkins with a splash. Shotgun moves out of the way and Original hits the turnbuckle. Shotgun immediately hooks Original up and delivers a Russian Legsweep right into the turnbuckle. The crowd explodes as Shotgun immediately crawls to his corner. Adkins tags himself and rushes after Shotgun grabbing his leg. Rage extends his hand but he can’t reach Shotgun. Shotgun turns around and hits an enziguri that catches Adkins off guard. Shotgun crawls and tags in Rage.
Manic: "The big man is in!"
Rage immediately body slams Adkins down into the canvas. Original is back up and eats a sidewalk slam. Adkins charges at Rage but gets a series of lefts and rights before getting dropped with a headbutt. Original attacks Rage but Rage counters with a back body drop. Rage stands in the center of the ring confidently and raises up his hands and receives a mixed reaction.
Chico: "The world champion is standing tall while all three men are down on the floor."
Manic: "Rage is clearly feeling it. Go for it big man!"
Adkins gets up and Rage immediately grabs him by the throat. Adkins is in danger as Rage lifts him up in the air for a chokeslam. Adkins wraps his legs around Rage’s arm and applies an armbar. Rage is in trouble as Adkins pulls back doing his best to break the arm. Rage’s eyes grow wide as he refuses to go down to the ground. Adkins pulls back but Rage uses his sheer strength to pick Adkins up in the air and slam him down causing Adkins to break the hold.
Rage holds his arm in pain as Adkins rolls to his feet and hits him with an elbow to the side of the head. Adkins continues with lefts and rights. Rage swings but Adkins ducks and fires rights and lefts of his own. Rage swings again but Adkins wraps his arm around the head and drops into an End of 5. Rage desperately manages to grab a rope and keep himself from falling with Adkins. Adkins is somewhat stunned and immediately he eats a big foot right to the face from the Modern Day Monster.
Chico: "Adkins thought he hit it!"
Manic: "You don’t see people counter the end of 5 often I can tell you that much."
Rage picks up Adkins and kicks him in the midsection. He pulls Adkins in and lifts him up high in the air for the Jacknife. Adkins hits him with repeated punches but to no avail. Rage lifts him up and Adkins slips out at the last second. Out of nowhere Original slides in the ring and hits a codebreaker on Rage. The arena explodes as Adkins immediately hooks the leg for the one…Two…. Original pulls Adkins out.
Both men start arguing while the referee immediately orders Original out of the ring. Adkins is livid.
Crowd: “Let’s Go Adkins! Let's Go Adkins!"
Adkins picks up Rage and hooks the head. He approaches a neutral corner and delivers a beautiful swinging DDT. Adkins immediately climbs the top rope and signals for the end as the arena cheers on. Adkins leaps off and nails the LTA on Rage. Adkins hooks the leg for the one….Two…. Shotgun pulls Adkins out of the ring and whips him right into the barricade. Adkins is folded over like an accordion over the rail before Shotgun grabs him and throws him back into the ring, the referee screaming at Shotgun all this time.
Chico: "Would you look at this? Both men are out and down."
Manic: "This when the real legends are born. When your body gives out, when you can’t move your limbs, when your brain tells you to quit, this is when real athletes are defined."
The referee starts the count and gets up to four…………..Five…………….Six…………….. Both men are seen moving. The ref is at seven………… Adkins gets to his knees followed by Rage. The ref is at eight………………Nine……………… Almost simultaneously both men get up to their feet as the fans cheer.
Adkins fires a right hand as the fans cheer loudly. Rage fires one of his own as the fans boo. Adkins tries it again and connects as the crowd cheers louder. Rage hits a stiff one of his own and the fans boo. They continue back and forth until Rage blocks and headbutts Adkins causing him to fall into his corner. Immediately Original tags himself in. Rage turns around and looks at Shotgun who casually sits there with his arm extended. Original rushes towards Rage before he can make the tag. Shotgun gets tagged at the last possible second in and immediately charges in the ring and takes down Original with a Lou Thesz press.
Adkins is in and fires off a super kick. Shotgun drops back immediately making Adkins miss. Rage is in and he immediately chokeslams Adkins. The referee gets in Rage’s face and orders him outside while Shotgun and Original continue to square off.
Chico: "This has become full blown chaos Manic."
Manic: "Neither Adkins or Rage are the legal men. They need to be taken out immediately."
Original whips Shotgun. Shotgun counters by pushing Original back into a shoulder to the midsection. Original flinches and Shotgun picks him up and drops him with a german suplex. He holds on and takes him up again before dropping him for a loud crowd pop. Shotgun holds on and drops him a third time to a huge reaction. Shotgun looks around and signals for the end.
Shotgun picks Original up and hits him with a huge blow to the midsection. Shotgun hooks him up and delivers the bullet bomb. Original skips out and leaps up into a codebreaker. Shotgun slips out and grabs Originals legs, hooks them up and applies the sharpshooter.
Chico: "The Bullet Shock! Is Original going to tap?!"
Manic: "Listen to this crowd!"
The fans are explosive as Shotgun sits back and pulls farther. Original is seen desperately pulling himself to the ropes. Rage is visibly nervous thinking about breaking it up. Adkins is stretching himself as far as he can to reach Original. Shotgun pulls back and fights as Original drags himself to the nearest rope.
The referee gets in Original’s face and asks him if he wants to quit.
Original: “Fuck no!”
The fans are cheering as Original pulls but he can’t reach the rope. Adkins stretches as far as he can and gets the blind tag. Adkins leaps in the ring while Shotgun is still sitting back on Original. Rage screams at Shotgun and warns him as Adkins leaps into an End of 5. Shotgun pulls his head back at the last second causing Adkins to slip out.
Adkins gets right back up and tackles Shotgun into Rage’s turnbuckle. Adkins follows up with a huge knee to the ribs and Shotgun is in obvious pain. Adkins follows up with another End of 5. Shotgun is about to drop but Rage grabs him by the tights and holds on firm. Adkins lands on his knees and Shotgun a little confused over what just happened immediately hits Adkins with a kick and hoists him up into a bullet bomb. Shotgun pins but the referee doesn’t count. Original out of instinct breaks up the count.
Rage enters the ring and throws Original over the top rope. Immediately he kicks Shotgun to the midsection and delivers The Straight to hell powerbomb. The crowd is shocked as Rage rolls to the side and pins Adkins. The referee counts for the one... Two... Three!
Manic: "He got him!"
The referee calls for the bell.
*ding* *ding* *ding*
Worley: "The winner of this match... 'The Modern Day Monster' .. Rage. And the 'Elite Savior' Carlos .. Shotgun!"
Chico: "What happened?!?!"
The referee hands Rage the title belt and raises his arm while Original screams at him from outside. The referee claims Rage is the legal man.
Manic: "Of course! When Rage held on to Shotgun it counted as a tag. No one noticed it except the ref and Rage himself!"
Chico: "You’re right Dan! That’s exactly what happened!"
“Only” by Nine Inch Nails begins to play. Rage poses in the center ring and looks down to where Carlos Shotgun is still knocked out cold. He stands next to Shotgun and laughs as he holds up his belt once again.
Manic: "The world champ is on top of the world right now. Say what you will but Rage is indeed a Monster."
Winners by Pinfall: "The Modern Day Monster" Rage & "The Elite Savior" Carlos Shotgun
-------------
Shotgun is seen gaining consciousness. He sees Rage mocking him with the title and he shakes his head slowly getting up. The music is cut as Shotgun gets up and stares at Rage. Rage signals he won and now it’s his choice for an opponent. Shotgun looks at the fans, shakes his head and just charges at Rage. All hell breaks loose with Rage and Shotgun brawling in the middle of the ring hitting each other with everything they have. Suddenly the lights go out…
Typing sounds are heard as a black screen is shown with letters being typed in.
"WE ARE ... HERE!"
"THE SYNDICATE"
Strobe lights go off all over the arena blinding everybody. When the lights come back up both Shotgun and Rage are laid out and two men stand above them, one of them holding the XWF Heavyweight championship. The fans are shocked as Mark Adkins and The Original holding the world heavyweight championship stand on top of the Rage and Shotgun.
Chico: "What is going on here?!?!"
Adkins pulls Shotgun up and Original drills him in the head with the belt causing him to gush blood almost instantaneously. Adkins walks over Rage and pulls him up only for Original to bash him in the head busting him open. Original walks over the nearest camera and shows the title bathed in the blood of both men.
Manic: "What is this?"
Original grabs a microphone as he puts the title belt around his shoulder.
Original: "We told you we were here. We told you nothing would be the same again. We are tired of playing by the rules. We are tired of waiting. From now on, WE take what we want. By bathing this title in blood we have proven all we need. As of right now… the XWF heavyweight championship… belongs to THE SYNDICATE."
Original drops the microphone and stands proudly with the belt. Adkins points at the fallen men and laughs before walking towards the championship belt and running his hand through the blood. He draws red stripes on his face and cackles before both men pose in the middle ring in front of the sold out crowd as the scene fades to black.
-------------
Backstage Blaze and Kanook are about to dip their shots of jager in to a big glass of red bull. Blaze: You ready for this?
Kanook: Born ready!
Blaze: Jager Bombers?
Kanook: JAGER BOMBERS!!
They drop shot glass in and start jugging down their drink. They slam their glasses on the table almost simutaneously.
Blaze: Ahh!
